John Edwin Keyton set out from Bridgewater, Virginia in a light green 1967 Ford Fairlane for a family reunion in Kentucky with Martha Helmick and Flora Helmick on August 3, 1973. The trio have never been found.
It is believed they may have wrecked while traveling and their vehicle may have went underwater.
John has one of his legs amputated from a war wound.
